Railroad/FELA Cases
In 1908, Congress passed a federal law
called the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA), which deemed a
railroader is not entitled to recover damages from the railroad for
an injury simply because it occurred on the job. While employees of
railroads are entitled to remedies under the FELA, they are not
covered by state worker’s compensation laws. Rather, the injured
employee must prove certain elements in order to recover damages.
This area of the law is highly specialized. Since 1988, our firm has
handled hundreds of railroad or FELA cases involving severe injuries
to railroaders both on the job as well as from toxic chemical
exposure. These cases have resulted in multi-million dollar
recoveries.
Our expert team can help
you understand your railroad/FELA case and what you may be entitled
to. Contact us today for a consultation.
